I have truly exciting news to share—The Paper Bag Players turn 50 in May 2008! The Paper Bag Players are planning an entire year of celebration and I hope you will join in the fun and excitement.
Beginning on May 1st, the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts at
Lincoln Center will present an exhibit all about The Paper Bag Players.
THE PAPER BAG PLAYERS: 50 Years of Theater Art will tell “the Bags” story
with historic photos, posters, documents and Paper Bag props. The exhibit
runs through July1st. (In conjunction with this exhibit The Paper Bag Player will give a free performance—date to be set.)
The
Paper Bag Players Spring Benefit saluting the work of Judith Martin,
Artistic Director and Judith Liss, Managing Director and honoring longtime
Paper Bag Players supporters and Board members, Susan Newhouse, Susan
Patricof and Joanna Rose is set for the Vivian Beaumont Theater on May 5th.
The Paper Bag Players summer tour of ON TOP OF SPAGHETTI begins on July 6
with performances scheduled throughout New York City and the tri-state
area.
The Fall brings the tour of The Paper Bag Players extraordinary 50th
Anniversary show! A blend of the brand spanking new and Paper Bag
favorites. The show will be a party in itself! The 24th Annual Family
Benefit—fun for every member of the family—is scheduled for November 23.
And The Paper Bag Players 50th Anniversary Winter performances in New York
City begins on February 25, 2008 at Symphony Space.
