LAURA CANTY-SAMUELis an actress, comedienne, writer, songwriter, director and producer. As a member of The Paper Bag Players, she delights in encouraging children and their guardians to put down the electronic distractions, if for just a little while, to exercise and develop their own creativity.
When not being featured as a meatball, a bathtub, a cat, a tree, a princess, or an elementary student who successfully negotiates the release of her teacher and herself from a ransom-seeking alligator, Laura can be found crafting and writing new material as a part of The Paper Bag Player’s creative team. She is a looking forward to and is already formulating ideas for The Paper Bag Players 2010-2011 season.
Laura is the co-founder and current artistic director of the performing arts group, Azddak Performances, which produced her self-written and performed one-person show, “Sunday Best”, Off Broadway at the Abingdon Theatre Arts Complex and the New York City International Fringe Festival.
